PORTABLE POETRY
This project is a derivative series extending the reflection around misinformation which is at the heart of “Truth Dealer”. “Portable Poetry” sprouted from the desire to address the surge of racism that (re)emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic due to stigma and fake news heavily relayed by Donald Trump. The aim was to underline emotional proximities as opposed to racist movements that attempt to ostracize by highlighting otherness. These tiny, “portable” artworks are each interpretation of two poems, one from Europe, one from Asia, paired up by their meanings. These naïve and fragile attempts at bridging Asian and European imaginaries, are also meant as objects of reflection on the oversimplified binary divisions between the “Orient-Occident” and “Connection-Disconnection” so-called extremes.
